To Parents, Guardians and Explorer Scouts

We are excited to announce that Walsall and Walsall North District are organising a camping trip to the Isle of wight from 17th – 21st April 2025. 

The event has been running every year since 1995 and in 2024 they had over 500 participants from all over the UK. We are looking at taking a group of explorers from the units involved in Walsall North and Walsall District. The theme for 2025 is the 5th season, activity groups and the fancy dress will be oriented around the theme. (See event poster on next page)

Revolution Isle of Wight 2025 is set to be an amazing event and not one to miss. During the weekend Explorers will get the opportunity to try new and different activities that you might not have tried before. 

The cost for the event will be a maximum of £250, subject to number attending.

Cost will include event badge, food, camping fee, event fee, activities, disco, transport costs of vehicles and ferry.  Deposits will be required by end of September for £75 to secure your place. Nov 2nd payment, Jan 3rd payment and last payment in March.

Payment Structure

1st Payment – £75 [Around 28th September 2024]

2nd Payment – £50 [Around 28th November 2024]

3rd Payment – £50 [Around 28th January 2025]

4th Payment – £75 [Around 28th March 2025]

Items that are not included are spending money and event merchandise such as T-shirts, hoodie, hoodie with a zip and hats (details to follow).

Ian and Nick will be visiting Explorer units in September to answer any questions you may have. Open to Explorers who will be aged between 13.5-17 during the event. If you are 18 or over for the event there is a local Network group who are also looking at going, I can put you in touch. 

What activities have there been in previous years: 

Hover crafting, Doom buggies, Quad bikes, Rife shooting, Archery, Laser quest, Crazy golf, Mountain biking, visiting Carisbrooke castle, a type of dance, Skateboarding, visit Isle of Wight needles park and boat trip.  More details to follow when organisers announce activities.

What will be happening over the weekend: – 

  • Thursday travel down to catch the ferry to the Island to the event ready for the opening ceremony and first night of Disco and campfire. 
  • Friday, Saturday and Sunday will consist of travelling around the island doing different activities. There will be at least 3 different activities per day to try. Before returning to the camping area to have something to eat before evening Disco, live band, quiz and campfires take place.
  • Monday we will be packing up and travelling back home.
